Heading To Albuquerque, NM

We last headed west in the spring of this year and we visited Sedona, Albuquerque, and Tucson, AZ. The purpose of that trip was to see the cacti blooms in the spring, as we usually head west in the fall and the blooms are pretty scarce. We had a great trip and aside from having COVID on the trip, it was one of our best. Now we are back in Albuquerque for our yearly balloon fiesta trip and it hasn’t disappointed!! It took us 5 days to reach NM, as we spent an extra day in Nashville, TN to check out the area before continuing west. I tried to take pictures of the welcome to (state) signs but often times I was preoccupied and missed some of them. We knew where we were heading, we didn’t need signs to tell us where we were!! I like traveling in the motor coach because we can see the change in scenery as we travel into the different states. The scenery doesn’t change much until about 15 miles from entering Texas. Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma look pretty much like North Carolina; but right before crossing into Texas we could see a big change with larger farms and more open land. Traveling by motor coach is all about the journey and not as much the destination.

Our Nashville home for two nights!

We enjoyed our time in Nashville and explored the city for an afternoon/evening. Nobody there works because the town was PACKED all day with tourists, bridesmaids having parties, retired people like us hanging around, and the locals having some afternoon beers for a treat. What a party town!!
